RIP Dear Auntie Ellice

Lily

ELIZABETH MCKENZIE BANNATYNE MCCORMICK
BORN: 6 July 1916 in Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland
DIED: 7 November 2009 in England

Today I received notice that my Auntie Ellice, who lived in
England, passed away this last weekend. She died in the hospital
surrounded by her daughter, Tina and granddaughter, Emma.
She was 93 years old and died peacefully.

Besides her husband, two children and grandchildren,
Auntie Ellice is survived by her two sisters:
Isobel Steel Bannatyne, USA and
Joan Thomas Bannatyne McClune (Graham), Northern Ireland
plus numerous nieces and nephews and their families worldwide.

She was predeceased by her parents:
William Bannatyne (1936)
and
Mary Catherine Louttit Steel Bannatyne (1976)

And other siblings:
Mary Catherine Neil Steel Christopher Crawford Bannatyne (1998)
Anne McKenzie Bannatyne Dunn (2003)
William Bannatyne (1933)
Jamesina Steel Bannatyne Stoneman (1993)
Allan Steel Bannatyne (1929)

Her remains will be cremated and tentatively interred at the gravesite
of her parents, my grandmother and grandfather Bannatyne,
in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

My Auntie was a fun-loving and outgoing woman who
could fill a room with her laughter. Although I only knew
her on a couple of occasions throughout my life, I will always
remember her wonderful spunk, energy and sense of humor.
She was married to my Uncle Bertie, who passed away in Ireland.
Auntie Ellice then went to live with her only daughter,
my cousin Tina, in Wales and subsequently to England.

Further information and pictures will be posted to this site as received.
