Hamburger Soup

I saw this recipe on TASTY KITCHEN and thought it sounded fast, easy and inexpensive to make. Best of all it can all be thrown in the crockpot in the morning for a speedy meal at night.

The author said that she considers it “MAN SOUP” because it is comforting, plentiful and satisfying for the men in her life. Also seems very adaptable, so makes a good base to jump from with your additions.

Thought you’d like to try it for your family.


2 pounds of ground beef
2 large cans of V8 juice (48 ounce)
3/4 head of cabbage, roughly chopped
2 cups frozen corn
2 tsp. spices *

Brown the beef in a large skillet and drain off the fat.

Place cooked beef, V8, cabbage, corn and spices into your crockpot.
* Use onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes, etc.
Changes up the flavor everytime.

Cook on low for 8 to 12 hours.

Serve with a little shredded cheese on top.

You can use Spicy V8 if your family likes a little extra spice.
Or how about one can of each for a mellower kick?
Make sure to decrease the other spices so it is not too overpowering.

You can also do this on the stove in a large stockpot.
Just bring it to a boil and then let it simmer, the longer the better!
